そこに神棚を置く事にしました。自分の日常を展示空間に持ち込みたいと思い、そして、その中に入れるお札を取りに伊勢神宮へ行く事を決めました。そしてその日帰りの旅をビデオで撮影し、40年ほど前の8mm映像とつなげてみようと思いました。


たしか1971年ころだったと思いますが、小学校２、３年生のころ、豆腐組合の旅行で、伊良湖へ行った時に伊勢神宮の内宮だけお参りに行きました。その時、父親が撮った8mm映像が今も残っています。


伊勢神宮をお参りしたときのことは、あまりよく覚えていないのですが、印象として強く残っているのが、雨の中のお参りであったこと、五十鈴川の水量が多くそれがちょっと怖かったことです。


実家は、豆腐店を商っていたので、父が祭った神棚がありました。


2010年、私が実家に戻るのをきっかけに、父の没後ちゃんと祭られていなかった神棚の、神具を新調することにしました。


また、神具を新調しようと決めたきっかけの一つに、息子の保育園の仲良しのお友達のお父さんの言葉がありました。


そのお友達のご実家は、上野で数少ない「宮重」という神具専門店を営んでいて、よくお宅に家族共々遊びに行く機会がありました。そのときに「宮重」の中村さんに神棚の事についていろいろと話しを聞かせてもらっていたのです。その中でいつも中村さんが言われることで、「神棚は、それをお祭りする家の人が、自分のやり方を決めればいいんですよ。」という言葉でした。


展示前の慌ただしいスケジュールの合間に、日帰りで伊勢神宮へと行くことにしました。


鶯谷から山ノ手線で品川駅へ。朝一番の品川発の「のぞみ」で名古屋駅へ。近鉄特急で伊勢市駅へ。外宮を参拝。バスで移動して内宮を参拝。おかげ横町で昼食。タクシーで移動し月読宮を参拝。徒歩で五十鈴川駅へ。近鉄特急で名古屋へ。「のぞみ」で東京へ。

高く積まれたオブジェとペインティングの上部から外を見ると、その風景と一体となるイメージでした。Looking out from the top of the painting and the objects piled high, and the images were integrated with the landscape.

手で触れ、そして手を動かし、その2つを合わせた感覚を触運動感覚／HAPTICSといいます。描く感覚はまさにそれですが、今回展示タイトルとしては、シンプルに「触覚」という言葉を使うことにしました。
